QHHT
QHHT vs. Past Life Regression: What's the Difference?
By Estela Sasson · September 30, 2026 · 1 min read
Both explore beyond everyday memory, but they differ in depth, length and purpose. Here's how to choose.
Two related, distinct approaches
Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique (QHHT) and past life regression are often mentioned in the same breath, and they do share common ground: both use hypnosis to explore experiences that feel like they lie beyond this lifetime. But the way each session unfolds, and what it aims to offer, is quite different.
Past life regression
Past life regression is typically focused. You come with an intention, perhaps understanding a fear, a relationship dynamic or an unexplained attraction to a place or era. In a comfortably relaxed trance, you're guided to scenes that relate to that intention, observing them as if watching a film.
We then connect what you've experienced to your present life, inviting understanding and release. Sessions usually run two and a half to three hours, and you don't need to believe in reincarnation, many clients treat the stories as meaningful symbols from the subconscious.
QHHT
QHHT, developed by Dolores Cannon, goes deeper. It aims for the somnambulistic level of trance, the deepest naturally occurring state of hypnosis. Sessions are longer, often four to five hours, and include an extended interview, the regression itself and then a dialogue with what Cannon called the subconscious.
In that dialogue, we ask the questions you've prepared about purpose, relationships, health and direction. Many people describe it as speaking with the wisest, calmest version of themselves.
Which is right for you?
If you have a specific pattern or curiosity to explore, past life regression is a beautiful, accessible starting point. If you're seeking a broad, deep experience and have a list of life questions, QHHT may be the better fit. QHHT is usually a once-in-a-while session, not something repeated often.
Both are offered in Ottawa, both include a full recording emailed to you afterward, and both complement, rather than replace, any medical or psychological care you're receiving.
